Ok, I could have sworn I published this recipe last fall!! I really think I did! But when I went to look for it, it was nowhere to be found. So alas, applesauce. Warm, cinnamon-y, comfort food-y slow cooker applesauce.

We live about a quarter of a mile down the road from an orchard, so going apple crazy in the fall is non-negotiable.
I don’t always dress like Johnny Cash, but when I do its to model a bowl of apples for a blog post. Jk. Thats just what I happened to be wearing because I was feeling edgy.
Oh, and that golden morning light……sigh……
Ok, on with the recipe.
- 10 Honeycrisp apples
- 1 Cup water
- 1/2 Cup brown sugar (optional)
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/ 4 tsp nutmeg
- Peel, core, and chop apples into small pieces.
- Place all ingredients in a slow cooker and combine.
- Cook on low for 6 hours.
- Mash with a fork or potato masher.
- Serve hot or cold or can and preserve.
